The Reading Army is a group of local volunteers who go into Fulbrook and Swallowfield Schools to help the students with their reading and spelling. The pilot project ran with 4 volunteers from September to December 2014. In 2015 we provided 15-20 hours of reading support every week. Year on year, we are trying to expand it across the community so we can help people of all ages. In 2018, with help from the National Lottery we provided 200 Amazon Fire tablets to enhance our programme throughout the six schools and the community.
